Aroldis Chapman traded to Yankees

Aroldis Chapman was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the New York Yankees on December 28, 2015. The Reds in exchange received Caleb Cotham, Rookie Davis, Eric Jagielo and Tony Renda. 

LHP Chapman was 4-4, 1.63 ERA, 116 K, 1.15 WHIP, 1.81 BAA, 33 SV in 66.1 IP over 65 games with the Reds in 2015. Over seven MLB seasons with the Yankees and Reds he is 19-20, 2.17 ERA, 561 K, 1.01 WHIP, .155 BAA, 153 SV in 328.1 IP over 334 games. He originally signed with the Reds in 2010 out of Cuba. Chapman turned 28 on February 28.

RHP Cotham split 2015 between Double A Trenton, Triple A Scranton\Wilkes-Barre and the Yankees. He was 4-2, 2.77 ERA, 31 K, 1.08 WHIP, .208 BAA, 1 SV in 26.0 IP over 15 games at Trenton, 2-2, 1.74 ERA, 30 K, 0.97 WHIP, .216 BAA, 1 SV in 31.0 IP over 20 games at SWB and 1-0, 6.52 ERA, 11 K, 1.55 WHIP, .326 BAA in 9.2 IP over 12 games with the Yankees. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the fifth round in 2009.

RHP Davis split 2015 between Class A Advanced Tampa and Trenton, He was 6-6, 3.70 ERA, 105 K. 1.15 WHIP, .250 BAA in 97.1 IP over 19 games at Tampa and 2-1, 4.32 ERA, 24 K, 1.38 WHIP, .292 BAA in 33.1 IP over 6 games at Trenton. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 14th round in 2011. Davis turned 23 on April 29.

Jagielo is a third baseman who hit .284/.347/.495 with 9 HR, 35 RBI, 36 R, 0 SB in 58 games at Trenton in 2015. He was originally drafted by the Yankees with the 26th pick of the first round in 2013. Jagielo turned 24 on May 17.

Renda is a second baseman who split 2015 between Double A Harrisburg and Trenton. He hit .267/.333/.340 with 1 HR, 23 RBI, 31 R, 13 SB in 54 games at Harrisburg and .270/.328/.372 with 2 HR, 21 RBI, 42 R, 10 SB in 73 games at Trenton. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the second round in 2012 and traded to the Yankees in June 2015 . Renda turned 25 on January 24.
