Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers was named the 2014 National League Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writers Association of America. He garnered 18 first place votes and had 355 points total. Others receiving first place votes were Giancarlo Stanton of the Marlins with eight first place votes and 298 total and Andrew McCutchen of the Pirates with four place votes and 271 total. The rest of the top five were Jonathan Lucroy of the Brewers with 167 points and Anthony Rendon (Nationals, 155).

Kershaw turned 26 on March 19.
