Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2014 National League Cy Young award by the Baseball Writers Association of America. He had all 30 first place votes with 210 points total. Others receiving votes were Johnny Cueto of the Reds with 112 points, Adam Wainwright (Cardinals, 97), Madison Bumgarner (Giants, 28), Jordan Zimmermann (Nationals, 25), Cole Hamels (Phillies, 17), Zack Greinke (Dodgers, 6), Doug Fister (Nationals, 3), Jake Arrieta (Cubs, 3), Craig Kimbrel (Braves, 3), Stephen Strasburg (Nationals, 3) and Henderson Alvarez (Marlins, 1).
This season the LHP was 21-3, 1.77 ERA, 239 K, 0.86 WHIP in 198.1 IP over 27 games. For is seven season MLB career he is 98-49, 2.48 ERA, 1445 K, 1.06 WHIP in 1378.1 IP over 211 games. This is his third Cy Young after winning in 2011 and 2013 in addition to finishing second in 2012. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers with the seventh pick of the first round in 2006. Kershaw turned 26 on March 19.
