Chris Snyder was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the Baltimore Orioles on April 29, 2013. In exchange the Angels received Rob Delaney.
Snyder is a catcher with nine seasons MLB experience playing with the Astros, Pirates and Diamondbacks. At the time of the trade he was with Triple A Salt Lake of the Angels where he hit .342/.388/.684 with 7 HR, 21 RBI, 14 R, 0 SB in 21 games. For his MLB career he has hit .225/.329/.385 with 77 HR, 297 RBI, 227 R, 0 SB in 706 games.. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the second round in 2002. Snyder turned 32 on February 12.
RHP Delaney has two seasons of MLB experience with brief stints with the Twins and Rays. At the time of the trade he was with Triple A Norfolk of the Orioles where he was 0-1, 10.12 ERA, 2 K, 2.06 WHIP in 5.1 IP over 3 games. For his MLB career he is 0-0, 10.50 ERA, 3 K, 2.33 WHIP in 6.0 IP over 5 games. He originally signed with the Twins as an amateur free agent in 2006. Delaney will be 29 on September 8th.
