Michael Martinez traded to Rays
Michael Martinez was traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Tampa Bay Rays on May 18, 2017 for cash. The second baseman hit 4 for 11, .364/.462/.455 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 14 games with the Indians in 2017. Over seven MLB seasons with the Indians, Red Sox, Pirates and Phillies he hit .200/.246/.270 with 6 HR, 42 RBI, 66 R, 4 SB in 282 games. He originally signed with the Nationals in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Martinez will be 35 on September 16.
