Jimmy Murphy of the Fordham Rams and Kevin Piersol of the Dayton Flyers were selected the Atlantic 10 Conference baseball co-pitchers of the week for the period that spanned May 15, 2017 through May 21, 2017.
Grad student RHP Murphy pitched a complete game 2-1 victory over St Bonaventure with a pitching line of 9.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 HR, 0 HBP, 4 BB and 6 K. He had also earned the award week 5. This season he is 6-7, 2.59 ERA, 85 K, 1.10 WHIP, .225 BAA in 93.2 IP over 13 GS. The Rams are 27-24.
Senior RHP Piersol picked up the win in a 16-1 victory over La Sallewith a pitching line of 7.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 0 HBP, 4 BB and 9 K. This season he is 2-4, 3.33 ERA, 50 K, 1.52 WHIP, .254 BAA, 2 SV in 54.0 IP over 21 games with 5 GS. The Flyers are 20-35.
