Anthony Rizzo contract extension with Cubs

Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs agreed to a seven year contract extension for $41 million. Plus there are two option years at $14.50 million each for 2020 and 2021. The first baseman is in his third MLB season and is hitting .280/.352/.538 with 9 HR, 28 RBI, 18 R, 4 SB in 37 games. For his MLB career he is hitting .253/.331/.434 with 25 HR, 85 RBI, 71 R, 9 SB in 173. games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the sixth round in 2007. Rizzo will be 24 on August 8th.
