Chase De Jong traded to Mariners

Chase De Jong was traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Seattle Mariners on March 1, 2017. The Dodgers in exchange received Drew Jackson and Aneurys Zabala.

RHP De Jong split 2016 between Double A Tulsa and Triple A Oklahoma City. He was 14-5, 2.86 ERA, 125 K, 1.02 WHIP, .207 BAA in 141.2 IP over 25 GS at Tulsa and 1-0, 1.69 ERA, 8 K, 1.31 WHIP, .273 BAA in 5.1 IP in 1 GS at Oklahoma City. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the second round in 2012 and was traded to the Dodgers in 2015. De jong turned 23 on December 29.

Jackson is a shortstop who hit .258/.332/.345 with 6 HR, 47 RBI, 87 R, 16 SB in 124 games at Class A Advanced Bakersfield in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Mariners in the fifth round in 2015. Jackson will be 24 on July 28.

RHP Zabala was 1-5, 2.88 ERA, 28 K, 1.20 WHIP, .167 BAA, 1 SV in 25.0 IP over 16 games at Rookie Arizona in 2016. He originally signed with the Mariners in 2014 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Zabala turned 20 on December 21..
