Alec Asher traded to Orioles
Alec Asher was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Baltimore Orioles on March 28, 2017 for cash. The RHP split 2016 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Double A Reading, Triple A Lehigh Valley and the Phillies. He was 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 6 K, 1.00 WHIP, .200 BAA in 6.0 IP over 3 GS at Gulf Coast, 1-2, 3.38 ERA, 21 K, 1.16 WHIP, 252 BAA in 29.1 IP over 5 GS at Reading, 3-0, 1.53 ERA, 19 K, 0.61 WHIP, .144 BAA in 29.1 IP over 4 GS at Lehigh Valley and 2-1, 2.28 ERA, 13 K, 0.94 WHIP, .216 BAA in 27.2 IP over 5 GS with the Phillies. Over two MLB seasons with the Phillies he was 2-7, 5.88 ERA, 29 K, 1.38 WHIP, .283 BAA in 56.2 IP over 12 GS. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the fourth round in 2012 and was traded to the Phillies in 2015. Asher will be 26 on October 4th.
