Joe McGuire of the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and Mason McReaken of the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars (SIUE) were selected the Ohio Valley Conference baseball co-pitchers of the week for the period that spanned March 20, 2017 through March 26, 2017.
Senior RHP McGuire picked up the win in a 7-0 victory over Southern Illinois with a pitching line of 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 HBP, 1 BB and 5 K. This season he is 3-0, 2.05 ERA, 22 K, 0.86 WHIP, .169 BAA in 22.0 IP over 7 games with 4 GS. The Gamecocks are 12-10.
Junior RHP McReaken had two appearances out of the bullpen to earn a save against Evansville and a win against Southeast Missouri. His combined pitching line was 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 3 HBP, 2 BB and 9 K. This season he is 2-1, 1.66 ERA, 25 K, 1.20 WHIP, .197 BAA, 5 SV in 21.2 IP over 12 games. The Cougars are 13-10.
