Jack Piekos of the Eastern Kentucky Colonels and Michael Wood of the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles were selected the Ohio Valley Conference baseball co-pitchers of the week for the period that spanned February 27, 2017 through March 5, 2017.
Junior LHP Piekos picked up the win in a 11-0 victory over Youngstown State with a pitching line of 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 HBP, 2 BB and 10 K. This season he is 2-1, 1.50 ERA, 23 K, 0.61 WHIP, .150 BAA in 18.0 IP over 3 games. The Colonels are 7-6.
Senior RHP Wood picked up the win in a complete game 5-0 shut out against Bethune-Cookman with a pitching line of 9.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 HBP, 0 BB and 5 K. This season he is 2-1, 4.26 ERA, 16 K, 1.21 WHIP, .257 BAA in 19.0 IP over 4 games with 3 GS. The Golden Eagles are 8-5.
