Ross Detwiler traded to Athletics
Ross Detwiler was traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Oakland Athletics on July 17, 2016 for cash. The LHP had split 2016 between Triple A Columbus and the Indians. He was 2-4, 4.60 ERA, 41 K, 1.36 WHIP, .268 BAA in 62.2 IP over 12 games at Columbus and 0-0, 5.79 ERA, 3 K, 1.50 WHIP, .188 BAA in 4.2 IP over 7 games. Over nine MLB seasons with the Indians, Braves, Rangers and Nationals he is 21-37, 4.21 ERA, 329 K, 1.45 WHIP, .279 BAA, 1 SV in 534.0 IP over 180 with 76 GS. He was originally drafted by the Nationals with the sixth pick of the first round in 2007. Detwiler turned 30 on March 6th.
