Richard Bleier was traded by the New York Yankees to the Baltimore Orioles on February 21, 2017 for a PTBNL or cash. The LHP split 2016 between Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and the Yankees. He was 2-3, 3.72 ERA, 25 K, 1.33 WHIP, .292 BAA, 1 SV in 58.0 IP over 12 games with 10 GS at SWB and 0-0, 1.96 ERA, 13 K, 1.04 WHIP, .233 BAA in 23.0 IP over 23 games with the Yankees. Vidal Nuno traded to Orioles

Vidal Nuno was traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Baltimore Orioles on Febraury 19, 2017. The Dodgers in exchange received Ryan Moseley.

Nuno joined the Dodgers in a trade on November 7, 2016. The LHP was 1-1, 3.53 ERA, 51 K, 1.33 WHIP, .289 BAA in 58.2 IP over 55 games with 1 GS with the Mariners in 2016. Over four MLB seasons with the Mariners, Diamondbacks and Yankees he was 5-20, 4.02 ERA, 270 K, 1.26 WHIP, .261 BAA in 329.1 IP over 126 games with 42 GS. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the 48th round in 2009. Nuno turned 29 on July 26.

RHP Moseley was 0-1, 3.20 ERA, 18 K, 1.12 WHIP, .191 BAA, 4 SV in 19.2 IP over 12 games at Short Season A Aberdeen in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the eighth round in 2016. Moseley turned 22 on October 6th.

Eddie Gamboa traded to Rangers

Eddie Gamboa was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Texas Rangers on February 14, 2017 for a PTBNL. The RHP split 2016 between Triple A Durham and the Rays. He was 6-4, 2.68 ERA, 89 K, 1.11 WHIP, .196 BAA in 94.0 IP over 27 games with 12 GS at Durham and 0-2, 1.35 ERA, 11 K, 1.28 WHIP, .196 BAA in 13.1 IP over 7 games with the Rays. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 21st round in 2008 and signed a minor league contract with the Rays in January 2016. Gamboa turned 32 on December 21.

Brandon Phillips traded to Braves

Brandon Phillips was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Atlanta Braves on February 12, 2017. The Reds in exchange received Andrew McKirahan and Carlos Portuondo.

Phillips is a seecond baseman who hit .291/.320/.416 with 11 HR, 64 RBI, 74 R, 14 SB in 141 games with the Reds in 2016. Over 15 MLB seasons with the Reds and Indians he hit .275/.320/.421 with 197 HR, 889 RBI, 920 R, 198 SB in 1749 games. He was originally drafted by the Expos in the second round in 1999, traded to the Indians in 2002 and traded to the Reds in 2006. Phillips will be 36 on June 28. 

LHP McKirahan did not pitch in 2016 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He had split 2015 between Double A Mississippi, Triple A Gwinnett and the Braves. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 1.50 WHIP, .000 BAA in 0.2 IP in 1 game at Mississippi, 0-0, 3.18 ERA, 8 K, 1.59 WHIP, .273 BAA in 5.2 IP over 6 games at Gwinnett and 1-0, 5.93 ERA, 22 K, 1.83 WHIP, .345 BAA in 27.1 IP over 27 games with the Braves. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 21st round in 2011, was selected by the Marlins in the 2014 Rule 5 Draft and claimed off waivers by the Braves in 2015. McKirahan turned 27 on February 8th.

RHP Portuondo split 2016 between Class A Advanced Carolina and Gwinnett. He was 1-0, 4.01 ERA, 21 K, 1.22 WHIP, .195 BAA, 1 SV in 24.2 IP over 12 games with 1 GS at Carolina and 1-1, 2.70 ERA, 4 K, 1.70 WHIP, .317 BAA in 10.0 IP over 5 games at Gwinnett. He originally signed a minor league contract with the Braves in February 2016 out of Cuba. Portuondo turned 29 on November 9th.
