Billy Burns traded to Royals

Mike Piazza was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2016 along with Ken Griffey Jr. Piazza was a C\OF with 16 seasons MLB experience with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1992-1998), Florida Marlins (1998), New York Mets(1998-2005), San Diego Padres (2006) and Oakland Athletics (2007). For his MLB career he hit .308/.377/.545 with 427 HR, 1335 RBI, 1048 R, 17 SB in 1912 games. His career caught stealing rate was 23%.

I believe his three best seasons were 1997 when he hit .362/.431/.638 with 40 HR, 124 RBI, 104 R, 5 SB in 152 games, 1999 when he hit .303/.361/.575 with 40 HR, 124 RBI, 100 R, 2 SB in 161 games and 2000 when he hit .324/.398/.614 with 38 HR, 113 RBI, 90 R, 4 SB in 136 games.  

Piazza was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1993 when he hit .318/.370/.561 with 35 HR, 112 RBI, 81 R, 3 SB in 149 games. He twice finished second in NL MVP voting in 1996 and 1997 and finished third in 2000. 

He was an All-Star 12 times (1993-2002, 2004-2005). He won 10 Silver Slugger Awards (1993-2002). His 10,844 career put outs as a catcher currently rank ninth all time. 

He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 62nd round in 1988 which is the lowest draft pick ever inducted into the Hall of Fame. The MLB draft currently has 40 rounds.

Ken Griffey Jr was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2016 along with Mike Piazza. Griffey won the American League MVP in 1997 and finished second in AL MVP voting in 1994.

Griffey led the American League in home runs in 1994 (40), 1997, 1998 and 1999. He led the AL in runs in 1997.

He was an All-Star 13 times (1990-2000, 2004, 2007). He won 10 Gold Glove (1990-1999) and seven Silver Slugger Awards (1991, 1993-1994, 1996-1999). His 630 career home runs currently rank sixth all time. 

He was originally drafted by the Mariners with the first overall pick in 1987 which is the highest draft pick ever inducted into the Hall of Fame

Four are in the AL Central: Cleveland Indians (52-36), Detroit Tigers (46-43), Chicago White Sox (45-43) and Kansas City Royals (45-43). Three are in the AL West: Texas Rangers (54-36), Houston Astros (48-41) and Seattle Mariners (45-44). That was aided by a 97-83 record against the National League in inter-league play. The National League does boast the MLB team with the best record in the San Francisco Giants with a 57-33 record although they only went 6-6 in inter-league play.

Drew Pomeranz traded to the Red Sox

Drew Pomeranz was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Boston Red Sox on July 14, 2016. The Padres in exchange received Anderson Espinoza.
