Kirby Yates traded to Indians

Kirby Yates was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Cleveland Indians on November 25, 2015 for cash. The RHP split 2015 between Class A Advanced Charlotte, Triple A Durham and the Rays. He was 0-0, 9.00 ERA, 2 K, 1.50 WHIP, .250 BAA in 2.0 IP over 2 games at Charlotte, 1-2, 5.33 ERA, 34 K, 1.54 WHIP, .265 BAA, 6 SV in 25.1 IP over 23 games at Durham and 1-0, 7.97 ERA, 21 K, 1.48 WHIP, .274 BAA in 20.1 IP over 20 games with the Rays. Over two MLB seasons with the Rays he was 1-2, 5.27 ERA, 63 K, 1.39 WHIP, .258 BAA, 1 SV in 56.1 IP over 57 games. He originally signed with the Rays as an amateur free agent in 2009. Yates turned 29 on March 25.
