Reds first to clinch playoffs 2012

The Cincinnati Reds became the first team to clinch as spot in the 2012 MLB playoffs with a 5-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on September 20. The win pushed their record to 91-59 with an 11 game lead over the Cardinals. The Washington Nationals clinched a second NL spot later in the day with a 4-1 victory over the Dodgers.
