Darin Ruf Eastern League MVP 2012

Darin Ruf of the Reading Phillies was awarded both the Eastern League MVP and Rookie of the Year. Reading is the Double A team of the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2012 Ruf hit .317/.408/.620 with 38 HR, 104 RBI, 93 R, 2 SB in 139 games with Reading. The first baseman also claimed the Joe Bauman Home Run Award for having the most home runs in the Minor Leagues. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the 20th round in 2009. Ruf turned 26 on July 28.
